What does an exhaust back box do?

The exhaust back box, which is a rear muffler, has the purpose to limit the sound generated by the gas as it passes through the exhaust system. It is located at the very end of the exhaust line and it is the most common muffler on cars.

When should I replace the exhaust back box?

Usually, the exhaust back box can last more than 80,000km. Depending on the way you use your car, the exhaust back box can wear out faster. If you are mainly using your car for short trips, the temperature of the backbox won’t get high regularly, which will lead to condensation, and this may cause corrosion.
