Wimbledon’s High quality servicing for your vehicle

At Pit Stop Garages we pride ourselves on the ability to provide a professional quality service offering value for money without compromise.
Servicing through Pit Stop Garages is very competitively priced – approximately half the price of what you will find at a Main car dealership. Once we have checked over your car, and identified where work is required, we will not progress any further work until you have given us permission to do so

Keeping on top of your car servicing not only gives you a better ride it also saves money. How? By keeping your oil and filters clean and your brakes properly adjusted, you’re emissions stay low, you use less fuel and you save money. A well-maintained and serviced vehicle will vastly increase the chances of trouble free and safer motoring, and as an added bonus will have a better chance of maintaining its value.

Vehicles vary in how often they require a service. It can be every 10,000 miles, once a year or your vehicle may have long life or variable servicing. Check your manufacturer’s service handbook to see what is best for your car. Whilst the type of service you need can be affected by how you use your car, routine servicing and repair is good practice and provides a return on investment as it:

-Reduces the cost of repairs over the life of the vehicle
-Reduces unforeseen and possible breakdown risks
-Reduces vehicle time off the road
-Lessens the likelihood of car accidents
-Provides potential for greater fuel economy
-And, the potential of increased product life e.g. tyres last longer. This is particularly important, when you consider that you can receive three penalty points for a worn tyre, or lose your license for four worn tyres.

We can service your car if it is under the Manufacturers’ Warranty

Thanks to recent changes in European Union (Block Exemption) legislation, you no longer need to take your car to an expensive main dealer for service and can now get maximum value for money servicing from AutoMate MOT & Service Centre without the fear of invalidating your vehicle warranty.

Check the tyre pressures regularly as soft tyres will wear quicker.

BRAKES
If you hear a lot of noise such as grinding when applying the brakes or when pushing on the brake pedal it feels spongy, you may need to replace your brake discs or pads.

OIL
If you are filling your car with oil frequently and consuming more than expected, there could be a leak in the oil tank. Consult a qualified mechanic.

TYRES
If you are experiencing less control on road surfaces, check the tyre threads as this is a common cause of loose grip on the road.

OVERHEATING
If you notice that your car is overheating frequently you should seek a qualified mechanic as problems with the cylinder-head gasket in the engine are the most common cause of this.

BATTERY CORROSION
If the car battery appears to be corroded do not attempt to repair or remove it yourself you should always seek a qualified mechanic for an examination.

USED THE WRONG FUEL?
If you have accidentally filled your car with the wrong type of fuel DO NOT START THE CAR as the fuel will travel through the engine which could damage various parts. Seek the help of a mechanic as soon as possible.
